This has been a very long and interesting road. In summary, my quest has led me to the point that when it comes to science, I am a man without a country. I am a Christian, yet most Christians consider my views on science heresy. I believe that the earth and universe is ancient, not 50,000 years old. I set out on my quest of science to prove that it was. The evidence to the contrary is just staggeringly overwhelming. It saddens me deeply that Scientific Creationism even exists today, for anyone who knows the disciplines of science scoff at this Christian belief. They are right to do so in my opinion. Anyway, I've done a great deal of reading of Christian and Secular writings on astronomy, geology and a little paleontology. I find the whole realm of science just fascinating. It became obvious to me that they are like a tremendous jigsaw puzzle waiting to be put together. Of course astronomy is the biggest jigsaw puzzle of all the sciences. A mystery gets resolved only to open 10 more in it's place. Dark matter, black holes, expansion rate of the universe, Plank time... The list goes on and on. So naturally, as I read the facts behind the pictures, my desire to eyeball the heavens expanded just like the universe, very fast. Anyway, that is a very short winded story. In conclusion, I wish agnostics and atheists wouldn't discard the Bible because of some very poor reasoning by some in the Christian community, but it is no wonder. The biggest advocates of the Bible are sometimes the ones who are discrediting the reasonableness of it's message. For Christians, I recommend you go to http://www.reasons.org/ and read some the resources there. It's long past time to change our thinking back to the ways of our Christian forefathers in regard to the passage of time. For those of you who are scientifically minded and would consider a reasonable message on science and the Bible go to http://www.reasons.org/ and read the resources there to understand an old earth creationist position. Whatever one believes, the night sky is absolutely wondrous and should be enjoyed by all. I also believe we can enjoy it together no matter what are belief system is... and I do so often with many of my Christian, agnostic and atheist friends. Thanks for listening, Andy P.S. - I'm kind of tired of hearing belittling comments from both countries. I had a web site in the past detailing the above. I've heard enough unbecoming comments. The venom that pours out is more than my delicate nature can take from someone not willing to discuss the matter openly. I'm the first to admit that there are a LOT of things that I can not answer. I believe I hold to a reasonable position of both faith and science. It is a lonely one though. I've written a couple of articles that may be of interest. I'm not making any claims that I'm trained in statistics or in geology but according to my best efforts, the results are personally satisfying. Your mileage may vary.
